Annually, employees participate in Growth Planning and Performance Excellence -
formal processes where employees have open career discussions with their

a three-step process:

- Assessment/Feedback - receiving continuous feedback on
your performance from your manager and others
- Growth and Development - discussing, documenting and

employees focus on career development, mentoring, and informal networking and

Health and Fitness
Wellness programs help employees lead healthy lives, ensuring they will be
their best both physically and mentally. Exercise Across Abbott, a four-week,
team-based fitness program that promotes physical activity as part of a healthy
lifestyle, spans all Abbott sites and rewards team members with points for
physical activity. More than 6,650 employees participated in the program in
2006.

telecommuting, compressed work weeks, part-time work, and job-sharing. Flexible
