Abbott Netherlands Makes a Difference for Kids with Chronic Illnesses
Watch this short video.
About 250 of our Abbott Netherlands colleagues recently came together for a
day of volunteerism to bring positive changes to schools for children with
chronic illnesses.
As part of Patient Central Day, volunteers helped supervise the children on
field trips to fly kites at the beach, play at the playground, and go to the
Dutch Railway Museum. They also painted classrooms, drew hopscotch games on
playgrounds, and planted flowers and vegetables in the gardens. The activities
not only gave volunteers the opportunity to make the day brighter for these
children, but it also gave them a better understanding of how the children cope
with their chronic illnesses on a daily basis.
At the end of the day, the volunteers gathered together to explore several
displays that described the various products and services of Abbott and our
Netherlands sites.
