Heather L. Mason
Senior Vice President, Abbott Diabetes Care
Heather Mason is senior vice president, Abbott Diabetes Care, heading up the company's global diabetes care business. She was appointed to her current role in May 2008. Mason previously served as vice president, Latin America and Canada Operations in Abbott's global pharmaceutical business.
Mason joined Abbott in 1990. She held a number of positions in Abbott's U.S. pharmaceutical business, including oversight of Abbott's specialty pharmaceuticals, the diabetes/metabolics and oncology franchises, and managed health care. Mason also served as vice president, International Marketing in Abbott's international pharmaceutical business.
Prior to joining Abbott, Mason worked for Quaker Oats and FMC Corporation. Mason is a board member of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association, trustee for Allendale and founding member of the Libertyville High School Foundation.
She earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Michigan and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Chicago.
