Important Safety Information

Indication

TARKA (trandolapril/verapamil HCl ER) is used to treat high blood pressure. TARKA is not indicated for the initial therapy of high blood pressure.

Important Safety Information

TARKA should not be taken during pregnancy due to the risk of injury and even death to the developing fetus. TARKA should not be taken by patients with certain heart conditions or low blood pressure. It is very important that your doctor is aware of all current and past medical conditions including heart problems, liver disease, kidney disease, and allergic reactions to previous medications.

TARKA may cause excessive low blood pressure, especially in certain types of patients with heart failure or who are salt or volume-depleted. Notify your doctor immediately if you develop symptoms of jaundice such as yellow coloring of the skin and eyes while on TARKA.

As with any medication, potential drug interactions exist between TARKA and other medications. Be sure your doctor is aware of ALL medications you are taking as well as past medication effects.

The most common side effects of TARKA were cough, 1st degree heart block (which may show on your EKG/heart test), constipation, and dizziness. Call your doctor if you experience any of these or other symptoms.
