As Abbott's Senior Vice President, International Nutrition, Fernando is responsible for commercial operations in Southeast Asia, Europe/Middle East/Africa and Latin America. He was appointed to this role in December 2021.
Fernando joined Abbott in 2018, as Divisional Vice President, Europe, Russia, Israel and South Africa in Abbott's Nutrition business. Prior to joining Abbott, he had a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry in Europe, Middle East, United States and Latin America.
Fernando serves on the Executive Committee of the Medical Nutrition International Industry Association.
He is a graduate of Lusiada University in Lisbon, Portugal.
