Since 1970, Abbott in Singapore has served as the company's Asia-Pacific hub — a role that reflects both Singapore's strategic position in the region and the depth of Abbott's commitment to advancing health across Asia. Around 900 employees work across Abbott's Singapore operations, which include one of the company's most significant global facilities and the Abbott Nutrition Asia-Pacific Research and Development Center, located in Singapore's Biopolis Research Park. That R&D center is the country's first nutrition research site and Abbott's largest nutrition facility outside the United States, housing around 65 scientists focused on food and sensory science, novel ingredient evaluation and clinical nutrition tailored to the tastes and nutritional needs of people across Asia.

Abbott's manufacturing footprint in Singapore is equally substantial. The 500,000 square-foot Abbott Manufacturing Singapore facility is the largest single-company nutritional manufacturing investment in the country, producing science-based products that reach consumers across the Asia-Pacific region. The facility was designed from the ground up with sustainability in mind, earning the Green Mark Gold certification from Singapore's Building and Construction Authority and achieving a 50 percent reduction in water and energy use through continuous employee-driven improvement. Beyond nutrition, Abbott's Singapore operations supply the majority of HIV viral load testing for Singapore's public healthcare system and provide pharmaceuticals that help aging adults across the region stay active and vital.

Singapore is a city defined by its ambition, its diversity and its deep investment in human capital — and Abbott's work here reflects all three. The company sponsors educational programs that inspire young Singaporeans to explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics, believing that the next generation of health innovators is already growing up here. Abbott teams in Singapore also partner with the Health Sciences Authority for annual blood drives and support the National Council of Social Services through initiatives like the ComChest Heartstrings Walk. In Singapore as everywhere, Abbott believes that the best healthcare companies don't just serve communities — they are part of them.
