Miles D. White is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Abbott, a global healthcare company with a leading portfolio of products and technologies in diagnostics, medical devices, nutritionals and branded generic pharmaceuticals.
Mr. White, who joined Abbott in 1984, became Chairman and CEO in 1999. In addition to being Chairman of the Abbott Board of Directors, Mr. White currently serves on the boards of Caterpillar Inc., and McDonald’s Corporation. He is a member of the board of the US-China Business Council, the Business Council, and the Business Roundtable. He is Chairman of The Culver Educational Foundation, a board trustee of Northwestern University, and a member of the Global Advisory Board at the Kellogg School of Management. He serves on the board of the Lyric Opera of Chicago, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Mr. White was formerly Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
Mr. White earned both a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in business administration from Stanford University.
Hubert L. Allen is Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. He was appointed to his current role in January 2013. Previously, he served as Divisional Vice President and Associate General Counsel, Established Pharmaceuticals.
Mr. Allen joined Abbott in 2006 as Senior Counsel, supporting the Pharmaceutical Products Division. He has held various positions within the legal department, including Divisional Vice President and Associate General Counsel, Pharmaceutical Products Group; Section Head, Nutrition Legal Operations; and Division Counsel, supporting the Pharmaceutical Products Division.
Prior to joining Abbott, Mr. Allen was Assistant General Counsel for McKesson Corporation.
He graduated with a bachelor's degree from the College of Social Studies at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut; a master’s degree in Politics from Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey, and a juris doctorate from Yale Law School in New Haven, Connecticut.
Brian Blaser is Executive Vice President, Diagnostics Products, where he leads Abbott's diagnostics, molecular and point-of-care businesses. He was appointed to his current position in June 2012.
Previously, Mr. Blaser served as Senior Vice President, Diagnostics; Vice President, Diagnostics Operations; Divisional Vice President, Global Operations; and Divisional Vice President, Reagent Manufacturing, all in Abbott Diagnostics.
Prior to joining Abbott, Mr. Blaser held several positions of increasing responsibility in engineering, finance and operations at Johnson & Johnson, Eastman Kodak and General Motors.
He earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering technology from the University of Dayton and a master's degree in business administration from Rochester Institute of Technology.
John Capek, Ph.D., is Executive Vice President, Ventures. Dr. Capek was appointed to his current position in June 2015. In this role, he leads Abbott’s venture investment organization as well as new ventures, including Abbott Electrophysiology. Previously, he had served as Executive Vice President, Medical Devices, and Senior Vice President, Abbott Vascular, heading up Abbott's global vascular business.
Before joining Abbott, Dr. Capek served in various management roles at Guidant Corporation, including president, Guidant Vascular Intervention and vice president and general manager of Bioabsorbable Vascular Solutions. He also served as vice president and general manager of Guidant Germany and vice president, marketing, Guidant Cardiac Rhythm Management Group. Before joining Guidant, Dr. Capek was manager of New Product Technology at Eli Lilly & Company.
He has a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, a master's degree in biomedical engineering, a master's degree in electrical engineering, a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering and a master's degree in business administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Robert Ford is Executive Vice President, Medical Devices. He was appointed to his current position in June 2015. Previously, Mr. Ford served as Senior Vice President, Diabetes Care.
Mr. Ford joined Abbott in 1996 as a Diagnostics Business Unit Manager for Abbott Brazil. He has held various positions of increasing responsibility for Abbott Diagnostics, Abbott Nutrition International and Abbott Diabetes Care, including Vice President, Diabetes Care, Commercial Operations.
Prior to joining Abbott, Mr. Ford held a marketing position with Becton Dickinson Brazil where he worked in the consumer products division. He is a member of the California Life Sciences Association Board.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Boston College and a master’s degree in business administration from UC Berkeley, Haas School of Business.
Steve Fussell is Executive Vice President, Human Resources. He was promoted to this role in February 2013.
Mr. Fussell joined Abbott in 1996, as Divisional Vice President, Compensation and Benefits. He was promoted to Vice President, Compensation and Development in 1999, and to Senior Vice President, Human Resources in 2005.
Prior to Abbott, he held human resources leadership positions at Nestlé and Shell.
Mr. Fussell is Chairman of the Board and President of the Clara Abbott Foundation and a board member of the Abbott Fund. He is an author and speaker on a wide variety of subjects and has served as a guest lecturer at Cornell, Northwestern and other universities. In 2010, he was named to the HR Honor Roll by Human Resources Executive magazine.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
Andrew Lane is Executive Vice President, Established Pharmaceuticals, leading Abbott's branded-generic medicines business.
In this role, Andrew sets the strategic vision for his organization. He leads the effort to deliver high-quality, affordable medicines and innovative services to consumers, contributing to Abbott's mission of helping people live their best possible lives.
He was appointed to his current role in March 2017. Prior to that, Andrew had served as Senior Vice President, Established Pharmaceuticals, Emerging Markets, and Divisional Vice President, Asia Pacific, for Established Pharmaceuticals.
Prior to Abbott, he was Vice President of Asia Pacific at Takeda Pharmaceuticals. During his 20-year career in emerging markets, Andrew held country and regional positions at Nycomed, Invida, DKSH, Novartis and Sandoz, gaining experience both in the proprietary and branded generics business.
He studied at University of Technology, Auckland, New Zealand receiving diplomas in both Business Management and Accounting.
Heather Mason is Executive Vice President, Nutritional Products. She was appointed to her current role in May 2015. Previously, she served as Executive Vice President, Global Commercial Operations, Abbott Nutrition.
Ms. Mason joined Abbott in 1990. She held a number of positions in Abbott's U.S. pharmaceutical business, including oversight of Abbott's specialty pharmaceuticals, its diabetes/metabolics and oncology franchises, and managed health care. Ms. Mason also served as Vice President, International Marketing, and Vice President, Latin American Operations, in Abbott's international pharmaceutical business. Immediately prior to assuming her role in Abbott’s Nutrition business in 2014, Ms. Mason served as Senior Vice President, Abbott Diabetes Care.
Prior to joining Abbott, Ms. Mason worked for Quaker Oats and FMC Corporation. She is an advisory board member of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association.
She earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Michigan and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Chicago.
Mike Rousseau is President, Cardiovascular and Neuromodulation. He was appointed to this role in January 2017.
Mr. Rousseau joined Abbott from St. Jude Medical, where he served as president and chief executive officer. He had previously served as St. Jude Medical’s chief operating officer, overseeing the company’s global sales, marketing, technology development, operations, supply chain and quality functions.
Mr. Rousseau joined St. Jude Medical in 1999 as senior vice president, cardiac rhythm management (CRM) global marketing and, later that year, CRM marketing and sales were combined under his leadership. In 2001, Mr. Rousseau was named president, U.S. CRM sales and then president, U.S. division. In January 2008, he was promoted to group president and assumed responsibility for the company’s four product divisions.
Prior to his tenure at St. Jude Medical, Mr. Rousseau worked for Sulzer Intermedics, Inc. for 11 years as vice president of several functional areas, and as director, risk management.
Mr. Rousseau received his bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis on risk management and insurance from the University of Georgia.
Brian Yoor is Executive Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer. He was appointed to his current position in February 2017. He previously served as Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer.
Brian joined Abbott in August 1997, and held various financial management positions of increasing responsibility, including Controller positions in the pharmaceutical, nutrition, and diagnostic businesses, before being asked to lead Abbott’s Investor Relations effort in January 2013. He became Abbott’s Chief Financial Officer in June 2015.
Prior to joining Abbott, Brian was a certified public accountant with Arthur Andersen and held financial positions in the consumer industry with the Scotts Company and Newell Rubbermaid.

Prior to assuming his current position, Roger served as Divisional Vice President, General Manager for our Nutrition business in China and Hong Kong.
Roger came to Abbott in 1983 from the Dial Soap Company, where he worked as a sales representative. He joined Abbott as Trade Sales Manager in our Nutrition organization, and has served in this business throughout his Abbott career, contributing to our company's success in both the U.S. and Asia.
While leading Abbott's nutrition business in China, he oversaw the successful launch of Similac Eleva and Similac Qinti, two infant formula products that significantly strengthened Abbott's presence in this important market.
Throughout his career, Roger has taken real pride in contributing to the Abbott Nutrition mission of providing high-quality products that help improve the lives of people of all ages, all around the world.
In addition to his responsibilities with Abbott. Roger serves on the Board of the Grocery Manufacturers Association.
Roger earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah.
Jaime Contreras is Senior Vice President, Core Laboratory Diagnostics, Commercial Operations. He was appointed to his current role in September 2013. Previously, he served as Vice President, Diagnostics, Global Commercial Operations.
Mr. Contreras joined Abbott in 1992, and has held various management positions in Abbott's Diagnostics Division, including Vice President for Europe, Africa and the Middle East; and General Manager of Commercial Operations in Spain, Portugal and Mexico.
Prior to joining Abbott, Mr. Contreras was area director for Bayer in Mexico.
Mr. Contreras serves on the board of directors of the European Diagnostic Manufacturers Association (EDMA) and on the Board of Directors of the Clara Abbott Foundation.
He earned a bachelor's degree in industrial design from the Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana and a master's degree in business administration with specialty in Financial Engineering from the Universidad del Valle de Mexico.
Eric Fain, M.D. was appointed to his current role as Abbott’s Senior Vice President, Group President, Cardiovascular and Neuromodulation in January 2017.
Previously, he served as St. Jude Medical’s group president, with responsibility for that company’s clinical affairs, global sales and marketing.
Dr. Fain joined St. Jude Medical in 1997 as vice president of systems development as part of the company’s acquisition of Ventritex Inc., where he worked for 10 years. In 1998, Dr. Fain was named senior vice president of clinical/regulatory affairs for the company’s cardiac rhythm management division. He subsequently served in a number of roles, including president of the cardiac rhythm management division. In 2012, he became president of the company’s implantable electronic systems division.
Dr. Fain received his medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine and holds an Sc.B. degree in applied mathematics and biology from Brown University.
Denis Gestin is Abbott's Senior Vice President, Global Commercial Integration. He was appointed to this role in January 2017. Previously, Denis served as St. Jude Medical’s President, International Division.
Mr. Gestin joined St. Jude Medical in 1997, managing sales of cardiac rhythm management and catheter products in France. He was named managing director of St. Jude Medical France in 1999; and vice president, Northern Europe and Africa in 2002. In 2004, he was named president of SJM Europe, Middle East, Africa and Canada, and was named President, International Division in 2008.
Prior to joining St. Jude Medical, Denis amassed substantive experience in the medical device industry in Europe, including a decade at ELA Medical.
He holds an advanced degree in business from the Ecole des Cadres in Paris, France.
Elaine Leavenworth is Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing and External Affairs Officer. She was appointed to this role in December 2014.
Previously, she had served as Abbott’s Vice President, Government Affairs.
Ms. Leavenworth joined Abbott in 1991 and held various management positions of increasing responsibility in Abbott's Nutrition, International, and Health Systems divisions. She was elected a corporate officer in July of 1999.
Prior to joining Abbott, Ms. Leavenworth was a principal with the consulting firm Louden & Company, where her work focused on marketing and strategy assignments for health care providers, suppliers, investors and associations. While at Louden & Company, she published numerous articles and several books, including The Hospital Group Purchasing Outlook, Home Care Joint Venturing, The Older Adult Market and Home Care - HMO/PPO Perspectives. Ms. Leavenworth also held marketing positions at G.D. Searle & Co. and American Hospital Supply Corporation.
Ms. Leavenworth serves on the Board of Directors of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Trustees of the Goodman Theater, the Board of Advisors of the Duke Global Health Institute, and the Women’s Advisory Board of the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital. She is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago, The Chicago Network (where she served previously on the board of directors), and the Women’s Forum of Washington, D.C.
She is the President of the Abbott Fund, Abbott’s philanthropic foundation, and she also served on the board of the Clara Abbott Foundation from 2005 to 2014.
She earned a bachelor's degree in health policy from Duke University and a master's degree in business administration from Northwestern University.
As Abbott's Senior Vice President, International Nutrition, Joe Manning is responsible for commercial operations in Southeast Asia, Europe/Middle East/Africa and Latin America. He was appointed to this role in January 2017.
Since joining Abbott in Canada as a sales representative in 1995, Joe has held a variety of roles within Abbott’s Pharmaceutical and Nutrition organizations. Prior to his current appointment, Joe served within Abbott Nutrition as Commercial Director for Europe/Canada, as General Manager starting our commercial operations in Russia/CIS countries, as General Manager in Indonesia and, immediately prior to assuming his current role, as Vice President, Nutrition, Asia Pacific.
While in Russia, Joe served as an advisor to Deti Nashe, initiating programs whose goal is to enroll and educate caregivers in orphanages on how to decrease social disorders related to children’s prolonged institutionalization.
Joe received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from St. Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Corlis Murray is Senior Vice President, Quality Assurance, Regulatory and Engineering Services. She was appointed to her current position in February 2012. Previously, she served as Vice President, Global Engineering Services.
Ms. Murray joined Abbott in 1989. Since then, she has held a number of management positions in quality, operations and engineering in Abbott’s Diagnostics and Nutrition businesses. In Abbott Nutrition, she served as Divisional Vice President, Quality Assurance; Divisional Vice President, Manufacturing; and Divisional Vice President, Operations Services.
Prior to joining Abbott, Ms. Murray worked at Recognition Equipment and Xerox Corporation. She is a board member of The Clara Abbott Foundation.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Deepak Nath, Ph.D. is Senior Vice President, Abbott Vascular. He was appointed to this role in April 2015.
Previously, Deepak served as Vice President, Vascular, Commercial. He joined Abbott in 2007, and held several leadership positions including Vice President, Abbott Molecular and Divisional Vice President & General Manager, Ibis Biosciences. In Abbott Vascular he served as Divisional Vice President, Strategic Marketing; Divisional Vice President & General Manager, Nordics and Eastern European Direct Operations; and, Divisional Vice President, Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa.
Before joining Abbott, he held leadership roles at Amgen and worked as consultant at McKinsey & Company. He began his career as a scientist in the computational physics group at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
Deepak earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering, as well as a Ph.D. in Theoretical Mechanics (Mechanical Engineering), from the University of California, Berkeley.
Daniel Salvadori is Abbott’s Senior Vice President, Established Pharmaceuticals, Latin America. He assumed this role in September 2014.
Prior to joining Abbott, Daniel was Chief Executive Officer, LATAM for CFR Pharmaceuticals.
Under Daniel’s leadership, Abbott’s pharmaceutical business in Latin America continues to make a positive difference in the lives of millions of people. “We improve lives in Latin America every day,” he says. “In fact, more than 70 people benefit from one of our products in Latin America every second.”
Daniel earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel; and a master’s degree in business administration from the Harvard Business School, Boston, Massachusetts. He is fluent in English, Spanish, French, Italian and Hebrew.
Jared Watkin is Abbott’s Senior Vice President, Diabetes Care.
Prior to assuming this role in June 2o15, he served as Divisional Vice President, Technical Operations.
Jared joined our company in 1996, when Abbott acquired Medisense, Inc. Since then, he’s held a number of key positions in Abbott Diabetes Care, including Senior R&D Director and Divisional Vice President, Research and Development.
In what he describes as his "proudest Abbott moment," Jared led the team that developed our innovative Freestyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System; and as he looks to the future, he's committed to "keeping Abbott Diabetes Care at the forefront of innovation, allowing us to provide better health, and a fuller life, to people with diabetes."
