To support runners’ journeys as they chase down their best selves and inspire others to follow in their footsteps, we’re proudly establishing Team Abbott, a community of individuals who champion health through running. Abbott will select runners to join the Team who have been impacted by health challenges but refused to let those define them. We’re seeking people who champion health through running and are looking to inspire others to do the same.

Whether you’re just starting out, are pushing a new PB or chasing your six star medal – registering for a chance to run with Team Abbott can be a transformative health opportunity with the experts and resources needed for your best race and best health. Team Abbott runners will be chosen based on their connection to health and the impact they’ve made on others/their community.

The Abbott World Marathon Majors, a series of the seven largest and most renowned marathons in the world, is a testament to health and the human spirit at their finest. Proudly sponsored by Abbott since 2015, this event unites hundreds of thousands of runners from around the globe in the pursuit of something remarkable: crossing the finish line after 26.2 miles (42.195 kilometers). These inspiring individuals exemplify that amazing achievements are possible when we are at our healthiest, embodying the very essence of reaching one’s personal best.

What is the Team Abbott program?

  • A community of individuals who champion health through running. Selected Team Abbott runners get entrance into the most renowned marathons in the world and are supported during training by over 135 years of health expertise from Abbott leader.
  • As a global healthcare company, we are looking for runners who have faced significant health challenges who want to inspire others by showcasing their health and running journeys.
  • We are offering the opportunity to register by telling us your story to be considered to run one of the offered races as part of Team Abbott.

What are the requirements to register to be considered for Team Abbott?

a.) be a US resident, b.) 18 years of age or older at the time of registration (19 for residents of Alabama and Nebraska), c.) not a Health Care Professional, d.) Fully completed the registrations form, e.) have agreed to the consents on the registration form, and e.) satisfy the other eligibility requirements in the Official Contest Rules.

How will race bibs be awarded?

We will carefully review each submission and award bibs based on, and subject to, the Official Contest Rules.

What criteria will be used to award select members bibs?

The following criteria will be used to determine those selected for Bib Contest based on health story submission:

  • Creativity
  • Uniqueness
  • Connection to Health
  • Impact on other/community
