Pedialyte ‘clears’ the way for its new look

Pedialyte is stepping into its clear era and going dye-free with a bold new look and flavors. Consider it a glow-up years in the making, with the same reliable hydration you've always counted on.

Underway right now, your favorite Pedialyte drinks, Freezer Pops and Powder Packs are going dye-free and launching with refreshed labels to go along with our new look. And throughout 2026, as we welcome in the new, you’ll see our classic and color-free versions at stores and online together.

Beyond Pedialyte, Abbott is also removing dyes from all our nutritional products sold in the U.S. This work has been underway for several years in brands like PediaSure, Ensure and Glucerna and by year’s end, Abbott will no longer manufacture any of its nutrition products with dyes.

Why does my Pedialyte look different?

As we move to dye-free formulas, Pedialyte liquids, powders and freezer pops will be clear and no longer have colors. This reflects the removal of the dyes.

How can I tell if a product is dye-free?

Why do I see both old and new packaging in stores?

We're rolling out dye-free products gradually as retailers replenish inventory. During the transition, you may see both our original and dye-free products on shelves.

Will removing synthetic dyes affect taste, texture, appearance or nutrition?

No. Abbott’s scientists and product teams have spent years reformulating products to ensure that removing dyes does not compromise taste, texture or nutrient delivery. Each product will continue meeting or exceeding all regulatory standards and Abbott’s extensive quality controls.

Will Abbott remove dyes outside the U.S.?

We will continue to evolve our portfolio to reflect consumer preferences in the countries we serve. Our decisions will reflect local tastes and customs, regulatory and policy considerations, and will adhere to our commitment to making our products accessible, affordable and high quality.
