ABOUT ABBOTT
When young ones require advanced medical attention, Abbott innovation is here every day to help address their unique needs across the globe. Which is why we're dedicating this World Children's Day to a few youngsters who have braved their way through turbulent times, only to come out on top. We're excited to share their stories and look forward to all of the stories of pediatric progress to come in the forthcoming year.
Sadie was the first to receive the Masters HP 15mm, the world's smallest mechanical heart valve. She calls the dime-sized implant the sparkle in her heart.
Thanks to Irie's Amplatzer Piccolo Occluder, the hole in her heart was addressed swiftly. Her parents call it a lifesaver, she just likes to play and get up close to animals.
For baby Alex, PediaSure was the only way to receive nutrients when diagnosed with oral dysphagia. Now 6, he's charming everyone he meets (except maybe his older sister.)
