Gillian Murtagh, M.D., is a cardiologist and associate medical director of medical and scientific affairs for Abbott’s diagnostics business. She manages clinical research activities, internal and external educational programs and business development projects in the cardiac space.
Gillian has been involved in cardiovascular biomarker research for more than ten years. She was co-chair of the American College of Cardiology Working Group in Cardio-Oncology and has authored and co-authored multiple publications on biomarkers and imaging. She joined Abbott in 2015.
Gillian received her doctor of medicine degree from Trinity College, Dublin. She completed her residency in internal medicine and specialty training in cardiology (advanced cardiovascular imaging and cardio-oncology) at Northwestern Memorial and the University of Chicago.
She is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the International Cardio-Oncology Society.
