Corlis Murray Inspires Young People to Pursue a Career in STEM.
When the #ILookLikeAnEngineer movement went viral on social media to combat sexism in the STEM fields, Corlis Murray, Abbott’s Senior Vice President of Quality Assurance, Regulatory & Engineering Services, knew she had to get involved.
As a female, African-American engineer, Murray wanted young women and people of color to see they could achieve their full professional potential through a career in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math).
From creating a high school STEM internship program to partnerships with local community organizations, Murray’s work hasn't gone unnoticed, which she recently shared with NBCNews.com.
